Our story
Syzygy Media is a publishing house for readers who want to learn, grow and act. Our books share practical thinking on mindset, enterprise and wealth creation, written to be used.
The name comes from astronomy: a syzygy is the moment three bodies fall into one line. We see the same alignment in a good book, where the author’s idea, the editor’s care and the reader’s need meet. Syzygy Media was founded in 2025 by Sotonye Afiesimama, a publisher and editor with decades of experience, to bring that discipline to a new generation of titles.
We publish in print and online. That means books, and also the video and short-form media that help a book reach the people it was written for. Our promise is simple: clear thinking, honest editing and design that respects the reader.

Meet the founder
Sotonye Afiesimama
Founder, editor and storyteller
Sotonye Afiesimama is a multidisciplinary creative professional, certified manuscript editor, digital media strategist and publishing consultant with a background spanning graphic communication design, art, architectural history and publishing.
Educated in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, he has been involved in manuscript editing, illustration and publishing since the 1990s, collaborating with distinguished scholars and contributing to a wide range of creative and literary projects.
The proof is already on the shelf: the centenary history Port Harcourt at 100 for the Rivers State Government, the life of Ernest Sisei Ikoli, Nigeria’s pioneer newspaper editor, community histories, Ogoni folktales he typeset himself, and an academic study of Nigeria’s economy. Today he brings the same eye to the screen, with video and short-form media that carry a book far beyond the page.
